Some of us have heard countless times that we just need to read in our Bible, and then we will understand, the truth will unfold, we will find comfort, God will reveal Himself… or something else entirely. The Bible is the answer to most things, but what if the Bible doesn’t make any sense to me? I read one story after another that seems highly unlikely and wild – how am I supposed to believe it? What can I actually use the Bible for if I don’t understand it or can’t believe it? How can the Bible become a way to understand God, and how should I read it?
